Ahu Tongariki
Fifteen moai put back up: Ahu Tongariki is the largest ahu on Rapa Nui. Its statues were toppled during the island's civil wars, and in 1960 a tsunami from the earthquake off Chile swept the whole platform inland. It was substantially restored in the 1990s by a team led by Claudio Cristino and Patricia Vargas Casanova, and now carries fifteen moai, one of them 86 tonnes and the heaviest ever raised on the island.
