Candi Cetho
Candi Cetho is a terraced Hindu-Javanese temple on the western slope of Mount Lawu, built in the last decades of the Majapahit period. Its stepped terraces echo older Indonesian terraced sanctuaries, and a gate inscription dates part of it to 1475. Much of what stands today, including the wooden pavilions and split gates, comes from a disputed rebuilding in 1975-1976.
