Candi Mendut
Candi Mendut is an early 9th-century Buddhist temple about 3 km east of Borobudur, in line with Pawon and Borobudur. Its main chamber still holds three large stone statues: a seated Buddha flanked by two bodhisattvas. The outer walls carry reliefs of bodhisattvas, and the porch shows the goddess Hariti among children.
