Enkapune Ya Muto

Rockshelter in the central Rift Valley of Kenya, also called Twilight Cave. Its deep sequence covers the Middle to Later Stone Age change and produced very early shell ornaments.

  Later Stone Age argued to begin substantially before 46,000 years ago; rests on obsidian hydration and has not been independently reproduced source
• 38,000 BCE mainstream
  Ostrich eggshell beads made about 40,000 years ago source
