Golden Mile (Kalgoorlie)
The Golden Mile is the gold-rich ground between Kalgoorlie and Boulder in Western Australia. A find by Paddy Hannan and his companions in June 1893 set off the rush, and by 1903 the area held 49 working mines and about 100 headframes. Since 1989 most of the old leases have been merged into the Fimiston Open Pit, known as the Super Pit.
