Ishibutai Kofun

Exposed megalithic burial chamber in Asuka, Nara Prefecture, Japan, the largest such megalithic structure in the country. Thirty granite blocks from Mount Tonomine, 3 km away, form a platform, a passage and a chamber roofed by two capstones; the largest weigh up to 75 tonnes. The earth mound is gone, which one reading attributes to a posthumous punishment of the Soga clan. It is inferred to be the tomb of Soga no Umako, who died in 626. Named 'stone stage' by 1853. Coordinates: Wikipedia 34.4669/135.8261 = OSM 34.4668/135.8261; Wikidata's 34.4168 sits 5.6 km south and looks like a digit error.
