Jadar Valley
A valley near Loznica in western Serbia holding the world's only known deposit of jadarite, a lithium-sodium-boron mineral discovered in drill core in December 2004 and named for the valley. The Rio Tinto-proposed Jadar mine would extract it for lithium and boron, but the project has triggered large environmental protests and remains contested.
