Jesuit Missions of Trinidad & Jesús
Two of thirty Jesuit reduction mission towns built across the Río de la Plata basin in the 17th-18th centuries to Christianize and shelter the Guaraní from colonial forced labour - self-sufficient miniature city-states combining a plaza, church, school, workshops and housing, blending indigenous elements with Baroque, Romanesque and Mudéjar architectural influences unique to the region.
