Old Havana
The historic colonial core of Havana, Cuba, founded by the Spanish in 1519 and shaped over nearly 400 years into a dense mix of baroque, neoclassical, art nouveau and art deco architecture - a mandatory stop for Spanish New World shipping that grew into the largest port and a major shipbuilding centre of the Spanish West Indies, and today one of the most architecturally continuous historic city centres in the Americas.
