Pungnaptoseong

Earthen rampart on the Han River in Songpa-gu, Seoul, widely identified with Wiryeseong, the Hanseong-period capital of Baekje. The long oval circuit measured about 3.5 km and enclosed some 860,000 m2; 2.7 km of wall survives, the western side having been carried away by flooding. It was built by heaping sandy soil, grit, clay and mud in slanted layers, with pebbles laid over the last course of the inner wall. The surviving bank now runs between apartment blocks. Coordinates: Wikipedia = Wikidata 37.5303/127.1162; OSM maps the wall as two segments at 37.5281/127.1126 and 37.5308/127.1170.
