Rising Star Cave (Dinaledi Chamber)
Cave system in South Africa's Cradle of Humankind where cavers found the remains of at least 15 Homo naledi individuals in 2013, deep in a chamber reachable only through a narrow chute. Researchers argue the bodies were deliberately placed there - possibly the earliest deliberate mortuary behaviour known - though the claim remains contested.
