Tabon Caves
A cave system on Palawan, Philippines, dubbed the country's 'Cradle of Civilization' after 1962 excavations by Robert B. Fox uncovered 'Tabon Man' - fragmentary human remains alongside jar burials, jade ornaments, stone tools and earthenware. Dating estimates for the oldest remains vary considerably across studies, from roughly 16,500 to as much as 47,000 years old, but all place early human presence on Palawan well into the Late Pleistocene.
